Animals & Us Day Camp

Animals & Us Day Camp offers four different kinds of camps that allow children to be immersed in animal learning and fun. Each camp offers animal-related educational activities, including games, crafts, guest speakers from other animal-related organizations, animal interactions, and more!

*NEW THIS YEAR:  "Little Paws" (Mini-Camps for 4-5 Year Olds) & "Dog's Day Out" (Field Trip Camps for 12-14 Year Olds)

“Little Paws”

4-5 Year Olds

*New this year…Little Paws is a 3-Day Mini-Camp (Wednesday-Friday) from 9am-11am that utilizes a unique “foster care” model with plush toy animals where children learn to understand and provide for a pet’s needs.  Children also learn bite prevention, cat and dog behavior, spay/neuter importance, proper handling, and of course…animal time! $75 per camper

    •  Dates: Weeks of (6/8-6/10) & (7/6-7/8)                          Time: 9am-11am    

 

“Friends for Life”

6-8 Year Olds

Friends for Life is a 5-Day Camp from 9am-12pm that focuses on pet care and learning about responsibility for animals. Lessons include animal communication, pet safety, and tutorials about wildlife. Daily animal time provides the perfect opportunity for campers to practice soft hands while learning safe animal interaction. $125 per camper

    • Dates: Weeks of (6/13-6/17) & (6/20-6/24)                           Time: 9am-12pm    

 

“Animal Neighbors”

9-11 Year Olds

Animal Neighbors is a 5-Day Camp from 9am-12pm that incorporates visits from other animal organizations to educate children on the importance of compassion for all kinds of animals.  Children will love learning about, and meeting, the different kinds of animals while learning how each organization benefits animals in their own ways. $125 per camper 

    • Dates: Weeks of (6/27-7/1), (7/11-7/15), & (7/18-7/22)          Time: 9am-12pm

 

“Dog’s Day Out”’

12-14 Year Olds

*New this year…Dog’s Day Out is a 5-Day Camp from 9am-1pm (please bring a lunch) that gives campers a chance to, not only learn about NAHS, but also visit other animal-related organizations and observe first-hand how the community cares for and rescues all kinds of creatures big and small.  Campers will experience NAHS behind the scenes, learn about animal-related careers from guest speakers, and go on field trips that include Kline Creek Farm, Indian Prarie Animal Hospital, and Willowbrook Wildlife Center. $200 per camper 

    • Dates: Weeks of (7/25-7/29) & (8/1-8/5)                               Time: 9am-1pm                                                                                                                  

The registration fee includes materials for crafts, T-shirt and a daily snack (for "Dog's Day Out" camps, please have campers bring a lunch). There is a $25 cancellation fee. 

***We are also looking for Jr. Volunteers (ages 16-18) to help with our summer camps.
