KIND (Kids In Nature's Defense) News is a classroom magazine for children. It features articles, puzzles, and celebrity interviews that teach children the value of showing kindness and respect to animals, the environment, and one another. Its emphasis on humane values, such as fairness, compassion, and responsibility, seeks to encourage good character in children. KIND News is published at three reading levels: Primary (grades K-2), Junior (grades 3-4), and Senior (grades 5-6). KIND News is published bi-monthly, September through May. Each subscription includes 28 copies and a teacher's guide.
The Adopt-a-Classroom program allows teachers to have their classroom sponsored by an individual or organization. The Naperville Area Humane Society will aid in finding sponsors for interested classrooms. The yearly subscription would be paid by the classroom's adopter and can be renewed each year.
