Birthday Parties

We offer fun-filled two-hour parties for children that starts with an educational talk and a behind-the-scenes shelter tour. A party coordinator will help you with game and craft suggestions. The children will be able to take photos and interact with our shelter animals dependent on availability of appropriate animals and comfort level/behavior of party guests. And, of course, there is time for presents and cake!

A minimum donation of $100 (for weekdays) or $150 (for weekends) includes: services of a party coordinator, educational talk and shelter tour, animal interaction time, dog or cat themed paper goods, and a special gift for the birthday child.

Food and drinks are not supplied by NAHS, but you are welcome to bring pizza, cake, goodies, drinks, decorations, etc. at your own expense.

NEW for this year is our partnership with Two Bostons Pet Boutique and Gourmet Bakery!  Now the birthday child can register for pet gifts at any one of the Two Bostons locations.  With every purchase, Two Bostons will donate a toy.  They even provide beautiful invitations and gift wrapping!

Party date/time scheduling depends on shelter availability.  As of now, we offer weekday parties during hours that we are not open to the public as well as one Saturday a month.

Space is limited to 15 children and adults maximum. To schedule your party please call Kristen, the Humane Education Manager, at (630) 420-8989 ext. 117 or send an email.

***We are in need of volunteers ages 16+up to help with our birthday parties on weekends from 10am-12pm, which would include giving an educational talk/tour and teaching the children how to make a craft of the instructor’s choosing.

If you are intersted in helping out with birthday parties please contact Kristen at (630) 420-8989 ext. 117 or send an email.
