Give to NAHS
Like other non-profits, Naperville Area Humane Society is always in need of funds and supplies that allow us to continue caring for cats and dogs in our community. NAHS is a 501(c)3 organization. Our tax exempt number is 363040480.
Generous financial contributions help make NAHS a leader in animal welfare and humane education in our community. NAHS receives no government funding and, while we have "humane society" in our name, we receive no funding from the Humane Society of the United States. That makes private donations critical to our continued success. Your gift is extremely important because it provides resources that make an immediate impact and will help us through this interesting - and tough - financial period.
Financial gifts can be through several different programs. They are:
Constant Companions - this is a monthly commitment that is taken from your bank account or charged to your credit card for whatever time period you prefer. These gifts allow us to budget more closely because we know we can count on your ongoing support. to To learn more, click here.
Partners for Paws - is our membership program with benefits available at the various giving levels. From Supporter at $100 to Visionary at $2,000+, donors know they are making a difference in the lives of our homeless pets. To learn more, click here.
Humane Heroes - is for those donors who want to leave a lasting legacy to the shelter through their estate plan or have made large gifts during their lifetime. These special gifts will help NAHS ensure the care and protection of the pets that bring so much joy to our lives. To learn more, click here.
Tribute Gifts - allow you to make a gift in honor or memory of a family member, friend or pet. They will receive an acknowledgement of your gift. To learn more, click here.
Special Events - with our Virtual Adopt-A-Thon, Putts for Pets Golf Outing and Black Cat Ball, NAHS gives supporters the opportunity to have fun while helping the cats and dogs! The Virtual Adopt-A-Thon has people volunteer to place themselves up for adoption and raise funds through gifts to "sponsor" them. Putts for Pets is a great afternoon of golfing and includes a live and silent auction as part of the festivities. The Black Cat Ball is an evening of dinner, dancing and live and silent auction, all to benefit the pets at NAHS. We encourage people to participate in these events by attending and/or providing auction items as well as sponsorship. Click on each event to learn more about it.
Pavers for Pets - is an opportunity to leave a lasting imprint of your dedication to NAHS and pave the way to a bright future for the pets and people involved. Engrave your name, a pet's name, a family member or the name of a club or organization on a commemorative brick. Choose between 4" x 8" or 8" x 8" brick and customize the name or message. Your engraved brick(s) will be used to pave the area between our doors on the west side of the shelter. To learn more, click here.
Lizzy's Fund - was established to provide veterinary care and grooming for older dogs coming to the shelter. The fund also underwrites the adoption fee for qualified owners choosing to adopt a senior dog (7 years and older). To learn more, click here.
As you can imagine, NAHS goes through lots of cat and dog food as well as cat litter, towels, bleach and other supplies. Drive by the shelter on any given day and you'll see our message board showing the items for which we have the greatest need. Items can be dropped off at the shelter every day between 8 AM and 5 PM using the service entrance. You can find a Wish List of items by clicking here.
You can also drop off aluminum cans at NAHS in the open trailer behind the shelter. S&S Recycling collects the contents of the trailer on a quarterly basis and sends a check for our efforts. In addition, you can collect codes from Coca-Cola products bearing the MyCokeRewards.com logo and drop them by the shelter or email codes to firstname.lastname@example.org. Points are redeemed for prizes to be used in our annual special events. You can also post a sign at work to collect aluminum cans and/or points on behalf of NAHS.
For more information regarding these programs or other ways to support NAHS, please contact Ellie Stefanic, development director, at (630) 420-8989 x114 or via email.
We are grateful to everyone who supports our cats and dogs as well as the children and adults who volunteer or participate in our educational programs. THANK YOU!
