With age comes wisdom, right?  I might not be a kitten anymore, that just means I’m not wild and crazy.  I’ve learned a lot in my years, and I know what I want:  a loving, gentle family, warm, sunny spots in the house to use for catnaps, good food, and lots of attention.  I like to talk sometimes, and I like it when you talk back to me.  I’m really gentle, and I can live with other cats, children at least 5 years old, and maybe even a gentle dog.  Won’t you give me a chance? 

Cold.  Hungry. Scared.  Alone.  That's life when you're a stray cat.  That was my life.  Now, though, I’m safe, warm, and well fed.  All that's missing is a family, one that understands that I never want to be outside again (no kitty should). I'd like people to adore and pet me, toys to play with, and all the other necessities.I'll also need to be brushed weekly to prevent tangles in my long hair.

I think I missed my calling in showbiz.  I've got superstar looks and personality.  I may be 10 years old but I don't show my age.  I'm a curious and sweet cat who's ready to start the next chapter of my life with my forever family.  I'm okay around some cats but I have so much personality, I might do best as the only cat.  I also have a hyperthyroid, so I need a special prescription diet to keep it under control. I was found outside looking for food -- not a great start in life for a young girl like me.  The person who found me took me to the vet, and he thought I might be pregnant.  Great news, though... I'm not.  Whew!  That means I can find my forever home that much faster.  I'm sweet and petite, and I definitely enjoy the company of my human friends.  I don't remember ever living with another animal, but I know I like some cats and I don't like others.  I'm a girl... I'm allowed to be fickle.  Not sure about those animals that make a barking sound.  I think they're called dogs.  I've never met one, and I don't know if I want to.  I can live with kids of almost any age.

My fancy name means "muse."  I am sweet and loving and ready to inspire you all day long.  I'm also quite outgoing and enjoy playing with feater wand toys.  The best home environment for me would be one where I can be the only pet.  I like to soak up all the love for myself.  Won't you let me be your muse?

Do you think I look annoyed in this photo?  If I do, it's only because I really want a new family and a nice comfortable, loving home.  Truth be told, though, I was sleeping when this photo was taken, and the camera noise woke me up. I'm generally pretty calm, but when the mood strikes me, I like to chase little mouse toys. I don't mind other cats, but I'm not too sure about dogs; if you ask me, they're big, clumsy, and noisy.  I think childen in my new home should be at least 5 years old.

My name means Fortunate or Happy. I think that's accurate because I consider myself lucky to be here; I'd be even happier in a home (hint hint). My owner passed away. I miss her, but I know there's another home out there that needs a kitty, so here I am. I'm used to a quiet home, and I might hide when visitors come over, but that's OK with me if it's OK with you. I'm Nadine. Someone found me on the street in Chicago and gave me to a friend. Little did she know that the friend wasn't ready to have a cat. So now I'm at NAHS. It's a nice place, but I'd love a home with lots of windows for me to watch the birds. I'm OK with some cats, but I don't think I'd enjoy living with a dog.
